Deweys 24 Hour Readathon!

Ah! I’m crazy! Haha. Ever since I started blogging, I’ve fallen in LOVE with readathons. I think they are so much fun and they really help motivate me to read even more than I usually do. I’m excited to say that this Saturday, April 26th, I will be participating in Dewey’s 24hr Readathon. It is a very popular event with participants from all over the world and lots of opportunities for prizes.

If I’m not already finished Cress by Marissa Meyer, I’ll be finishing that up and then moving on to Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins. There is a read a long for this book happening on Goodreads so I want to finish it before May 3rd. After that I’ll probably move on to some Erin Hunter books. I’ve been wanting to re-read theĀ Warriors series for a while and middle grade/easy to read books were recommended. I figure after the other two books I’ll start getting tired and want to move onto something a little easier. I’m not sure how many Warriors books I’ll get through, so I just put the first two in the picture. I’m also thinking Panic by Lauren Oliver might be another choice. Maybe also To All The Boy’s I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. We shall see!

In Canada, the readathon starts at 8am but I do have to work. I have to go into work at 8:30 and I will be there for at least 5 hours. So I won’t be around until after that. I’ll probably make a post when I get home that says I’m starting and I will update throughout the 24 hours. I’m hoping to stay up for all 24 but well…I don’t know if that will happen, haha. I’m not sure how often I will be updating, maybe once every two hours on the blog? I will also be updating my twitter (@RebeccaMaynard) throughout the readathon; although I’m not sure how often that will be.

Is anyone else participating? I’d love to hear from you guys!

  1. This is my first time participating, and I’m really excited! I’m hoping to at least get 12 hours in. Some great options there! Have fun – I’ll make sure to check out your posts tomorrow! :)

    Happy Reading!

    • Wow! 12 hours is a lot, haha. I’m not sure how many I’ll be able to get in but I think I’m going to try 8 seeing as it’s my first time. Good luck today!
